Today's post is a bit different. I wasn't sure if I should write it mainly because I didn't know if anyone would read it. Then I thought screw it, even if you guys don't read it it will still be on the interweb and it may help someone. As someone who goes to Doctor Google(I know I shouldn't!!!!), I know this would have made me feel better. If you are gonna go to doctor Google, at least I can offer you a not so scary tale.
So back story, last December while trying to sleep I had some pain in my boob. I thought it was my bra(Yes I sleep in it. That is how I roll!) digging into me. But when I felt around it turned out to be a lump.
Now when it comes to health issues, I am super paranoid. If something like that shows up it NEEDS to be looked at asap. So I went to a walk in clinic as my GP does not work over the weekends. She said she thought it was a benign tumor called a fibroadenoma, and she sent me for an ultrasound. The results came back as we are pretty sure this is what this is. Let's check it out again in 6 months.
7 months later I got a second ultrasound, and the walk in clinic doctor said that it had grown rapidly in the past 2 months and they want to do a core needle biopsy, just to make sure it was for sure what they thought it was. And she told me not to worry. Then she asked if I had been on my period at the time of the ultrasound, I told her yes. Apparently the kind of lump they thought it was has a tendency to grow during that time of the month. Then she sent me on my way with a requisition for an appointment.
So after that appointment I actually got in contact with my GP. I really didn't like the walk in clinic doctor(and I had no idea that when you go to a walk in clinic THAT doctor is put in charge of all your tests and nothing gets sent to your GP unless you ask). Despite having all my info in front of her she got my info wrong. Not only that but you would think the place I got the ultrasound done would have asked if I was on my period seeing as that is an important factor!
So my GP then sent a new requisition out the the hospital I go to if I need to go to a hospital. I got an appointment 2 weeks later. I had to cancel that in the end and I was scheduled a new appointment for 2 weeks after that.
The day of the appointment I took a T3 and I brought the Boy with me, because if I brought someone like my mother she always makes me feel even more nervous(It may be because she was a nurse). Anyways I got in at around 9:40 and they made me take everything off from the waste up, and put a gown on. Then I got to wait for another hour even though my appointment was at 10. So I went in at 11-ish and then I got to spend another 15 minutes reading a page I had to sign. Finally the guy doing the biopsy came in, they prepped me and then numbed my boob. It kind of felt like the needle you get when you go to the dentist. Then he marked off where they were going to make the incision. My first thought was "No one said they were going to cut me" and my second thought was "The lump is on the other side of my boob...You are going to skewer me, aren't you?". So they way the biopsy works is they stick a large needle in you, and that needle contains another needle that shoots into the mass and removes tissue. They took 3 samples from me, but I read of other people having more. I also read how this was wicked painful for some people. I can safely say it did not hurt at all, but it was super uncomfortable. There was a lot of pressing and pulling going on and it didn't feel great, but it didn't hurt.
When it was all said and done they made me put pressure on the incision for a few minutes to stop the bleeding. They then just put a Band-Aid on it and told me to leave it on for 24 hours. When I left I got some acetaminophen to take and went back to the boys place. By the time we got back to his place I went to the bathroom and I noticed that I had totally bled through the Band-Aid and my bra. I ended up having to tape gauze over it(That's all the Boy had). I continued bleeding on and off for about 2 days. Overall I wasn't in pain, but it did hurt to do thing like lift my arms in the air, or pick up heavy stuff. I also could not lie on my stomach for almost 3 weeks.
I got the results back 2 weeks later, and it turned out it was what they had thought it was and it was indeed benign. My doctor says if I want I can get it taken out. I'm going to try and get another ultrasound in the new year and see if it is smaller. If it is I think I'll just leave it be for now. If it's grown or it start to bother me a lot I will for sure get it out.
Again I know this was a different and long kind of post, but I hope it made someone feel a little less worried.
Now for something I little less worrisome. A Pugicorn!

Random Wednesday: This is a VERY improtant post. It's Doctor Who related.
Now as you might have noticed I like the show Doctor Who quite a bit. And if you even follow the show a bit you probably know that the most recent Doctor, played by Matt Smith is leaving. I now present you with my thoughts on this.
First off Nine is my Doctor. I don't ever get why people skip over Nine. As far as the new series goes it would be like reading a book and skipping over the first 7 chapters. Not only is Christopher Ecceleston a bamf, and phenomenal actor, but he sets the entire series up for you. I also find him very attractive.
Next is Ten. I think David Tennant was great(And of course with him came one of my favourite companions Donna Noble). Unlike Nine he had more of a quirkynes to him. Bad ass and adorable. What's not like.
Then we get to Eleven. Oh Eleven. I don't know if this makes sense but I like how Matt Smith plays Eleven. Out of all the recent Doctors he is probably the one who is most all over the place. Which I think he plays well and it works for him. My problem with Eleven is everything else. Matt Created a great character, but out of all the new series he's story lines were the weakest, and plot and character development were spotty at best. These and a combo of other things made Matt my least favourite Doctor.

And for the record I don't blame Matt. My pretty, painted finger of judgement is pointed squarely at Steven Moffat the show's showrunner. He also seems to think bigger is better. I liked Doctor Who when the sets weren't the best! My point is I personally don't like the direction he took the show. With a few exceptions the episodes he has been the showrunner for have been the weakest IMO as a whole with a few exceptions(Vincent and The Doctor).
Now when Matt leaves I want to say I would love a female Doctor, I would love to say I want a companion who doesn't have a twinge of romantic feelings for the Doctor a la Donna Noble, I would love to say I hope they get a brilliant actor/actress with an amazing range to replace him that brings something new to the table. The thing is I fear that under Moffat's reign he would manage to jack up those scenarios. Especially the female doctor. If that's going to happen someone else needs to be the showrunner. That being said I would not mind if he wrote episodes every now and then. The Empty Child, The Girl in the Fireplace and Blink are some of my favourite episodes!

Random Wednesday: I can't swallow
Pills.
You're a dirty bunch.
I actually had a review planned for today but the polish I wanted to use for a base (Cult Nails Time Traveler) bubbled like crazy and I don't know. The formula was just off. So instead I'm doing this.
Yes it's true I can't swallow pills. Now before you start giving me advice know that I have heard it all. "It's easy," "Throw it to the back of your throat then just drink water," "Put water in your mouth first then pop it in. That way you don't know it's there." I get it guys. Let me start by saying it is a head thing. In theory I know it's not hard to do but I just can't do it. There is something that just stops me and that is the hard thing to get over. I can swallow food and...other things(;P) but for some reason whole idea seems hard for people to understand.
Now you are probably wondering how do I take medicine?
1) Things like Oxycodone or Acetaminophen that aren't coated I put in hot chocolate and let it dissolve completely. So long as it's not cotaed it's wicked easy to dissolve. The hot chocolate generally tastes a bit less sweet but it's not bad.
Other drugs I wont mix apart from coated are iron(it made the hot chocolate taste like blood), and antibiotics(It tastes like licking the floor on the deepest darkest pits of hell.)
2) When I had my wisdom teeth out they prescribed antibiotics. They originally gave me "easy swallow" capsules. And let's be honest that really wasn't the time to learn and they ended up tasting horrific in hot chocolate. I eventually got the drug in liquid form. It tasted pretty good! So I will get stuff in liquid form. Loads of drugs come in liquid form you just have to ask.
3) Gummies. I take my multivitamin in gummy form(they make them for adults). It's actually the worst because you want to eat them all.
4) Things like ibuprofen generally come coated or in gel. If you dissolve these they are horrific. They are generally too harsh and will burn going down. So when I have aches and pains(like my back the other week) I will sometimes use children's medicine. I don't actually take a higher dosage because they recommend if possible you dose by weight. I fall just outside the highest dosage by a couple pounds. And yes, it does work AND taste like fruit punch.
5) I don't mind needles. It hasn't come to this but I realize that some drugs do come in liquid form but need to be injected.
I just keep getting weirder and weirder. Questions?

Random Wednesday: I AM THE TARDIS!!!
I HAD nail posts all ready to go. Well not all ready to go they were on my camera still. Point is I sort of had them started. Anyways I uploaded them the other day and my first thought was "Wow, these look like shit". So now I have nothing to post. And since I haven't posted a random Wednesday in eons here in one to satisfy your Varnished Valkyrie Needs.
A little while ago I posted how I did a Doctor Who fan fiction show and as a massive Whovian I had to dress up. Specifically as Captain Jack Harkness. And people asked to see the photos. Well here they are. Sorry they aren't the best, I just get up on stage and generally someone else takes pictures! Which is why there is no proper body shot :(

You can see a part of my face and half my body.

Random Wednesday: Let's do MATH! (Don't worry it's nail polish math)
The is is regards to the post I did with 53 coats of polish. Or as I like to call it my claim to fame.
For people who are saying that’s a waste of polish let’s do some math.
Let’s say the average bottle of polish gives you 17 full manicures. 2 coats a manicure. So every time you do a manicure you use 20 coats total. So this would have used just over 2 manicures worth. Let’s just round it up to 3 for fun and to make the math easier.
The average price of the polishes I used were probably $9. But I’ll bump it to $12 because of the Chanel.
Now if we divide $12 by 17 we get $0.71 a manicure. Therefore 0.71 x 3 = 2.13
I wasted under $2.13 on this magic.
ETA: Apparently the math is more like $7 something. But either way my average is actually too high and I said I used more coats then I actually did just so it wouldn't be 2.blahblahblah coats. So I spent like $5 on this. Oh noes.
*I am not yet a certified mathematician, math wizard or math oracle.

Random Wednesday: Let's talk socks. And of course the rules that go along with sock wearing.
Wait am I the only one with a sock system? I should explain.
I haven't worn a pair of matching socks in almost 13 years(So more than half my life). Not only that but 95% of the time my socks are those obnoxious bright ones with pictures of monkeys on them. I don't know why I started it, so don't ask. Can I stop it? Probably. But I'm not going to try. The idea of wearing matching socks at this point makes me feel uncomfortable. I'm sure the world wouldn't implode if I did, but just in case I like to be safe. When people joke about forcing matching socks onto me it makes me feel real anger. I've been late going places because I couldn't find the right socks. Yes despite the fact that I don't wear matching socks there is method to my madness. You can't just throw any two socks together. Here is the system:

Here is the system:
- Patterned socks go on the left foot
- Animal/living things socks go on the right foot.
- Two(2) patterned socks may not worn at once(See exceptions later).
- Animal patterns are the exception and may be worn on the right foot if needed.
- Animal socks can be worn on both feet.
- If one(1) of the animals on the sock is a monkey it must go on the right foot.
- If both socks have monkeys it does not matter what foot they are worn on.
- If a sock is gifted by a good friend pattern, animal or whatever it trumps everything and goes on the right foot.
- If matching socks MUST be worn I will wear "matching" socks. ie. Two(2) white socks that clearly aren't the same but it isn't super noticeable.

Random Wednesday: I Believe
Aliens may exist! Aka the post where you learn I'm mental.
Yup you heard it from me first. First let me clear up some things. 1)As far as I know I am not crazy. 2) To my knowledge I have never seen a UFO or an Alien. 3)I am not an alien hunter.
I've always kind of always believe that there has to be something out there. Now I don't know if they are tiny green men, or people who look just like us. But I believe somewhere out there there is something else.
The way I see it is the whole universe is big. We here on earth are a needle in a haystack. A massive haystack of mystery. In the grand scheme of things we're probably very insignificant. But it's a bit hard to believe that in such a massive universe we are the only creatures. Also we have already found out that there are planets out there, light years away that are just like earth! Who knows maybe someone lives there.
Do I think some have come to earth before? Maybe. I honestly can't say yes, but at the same I can't get myself to say no.
What I'm trying to say in general is I'm not 100% there is other life out there BUT at the same time I believe there is enough evidence to show that there is a good chance that there is. But until there is proof I will never say yes aliens are real.
And please don't get me started on Area 51. That place scares the crap out of me(I wont get into that it might actually make me look crazy...but I will say A few years ago I had a conversation with Robyn where the topic of whether or not Jesus was there came up. We were not joking. Although that seems silly now I still have mu suspicions about that place). While on the topic. Thinking about the universe as a whole makes me uneasy. I know I said it was big already but think about it. REALLY think about it. Think about how vast it is and just how small we are. Think about the fact that there is so much more out there that we have yet to discover.
*weeps in corner*

What's that? I can't hear you over sheer magnitude of THE UNIVERSE! Ps see VY Canis Majoris?
Almost 4000 light years away.
Almost 4000 light years away.
Do you believe in aliens? What if the silence are real and we don't know it? What are your thoughts on the Universe in general? We're getting deep here.
Next Random Wednesday will be less crazy. Ah who am I kidding. I'm weird. :D

Random Wednesday!: RUDE!
So every now and then I kind of just want to write a post that has NOTHING to do with nails. So I decided to start Random Wednesday. It would be neat for you guys to find out a bit more about me (I can only tell you so much in a swatch post). And just an FYI I will never post on a Wednesday, and the topics may have to do with nails sometimes.
So a couple of weeks ago I was at a show and I was chatting to a friend. We were facing each other while talking(Yes the fact that we were facing each other is actually important information). We were about a foot or so apart. My other friend and fellow performer that night was standing next to us with is back turned to us. Out of no where a friend of his walks in between my friend and I, taps him on the shoulder, and starts a conversation. All the while STILL standing directly between us. We even tried to continue our conversation with her head in between us so she would notice... Nothing.
The hell? Did the girl think my friend and I were each talking to ourselves and we just happened to be facing AND looking directly at each other while we did?
We eventually just moved on. But looking back I wish I had said something. How do you not notice?
Have you had a recent WTF moment?
