I hope you all had a fun and safe New Years!

So, the big question on everyone's mind in 2017(clearly) is where have you been? And that answer is easy and complex, so I'll give you a hybrid answer.

If you had told me years ago that my regular lexicon would eventually include words like depression, anxiety, self loathing, self harm, isolation, sleep deprivation, and loss of appetite to name a few I would have rolled my head back so far into my head.

Cut to 2016.

This has been a dumpster fire of a year for me. I have suspected depression for a years now, but when I brought it up to my doctor:

Me: I've been feeling down for a whi-
Doctor: You're just sad.

That was the end of our conversation. 3 years+ of sadness later, I have graduated to extra sad.

Earlier this year my relationship of 7 years started to take a turn for the worse, and that intensified all these feelings that I had been bottling up for years(because remember I was just sad, at least that's what I always told myself and tried to push those feeling away). In September, everything started to snowball. Finally one night in October after one of the worst weeks of my life I finally broke down and told someone exactly what was going on. And to this day that person has stuck by side despite me being such a loose canon.

While I've learnt that having someone I feel 110% comfortable venting to and crying on is great, but it's not a solution. And I realise now that I need actual help.

As a comedian(Yup, that's what I actually am), I actually joke about all this quite a but, the reality is, I am so tired.

I need to get help. Getting worse is a terrifying concept that I don't want to become a reality.

So for the moment I am going to be focusing on getting better, because I miss being me. I may post here and there(I still have some reviews that people sent me...sorry they aren't up), but I can honestly say as much as I love to blog, it is not my top priority right now. So please forgive my extended absence in 2016, and my potential 2017 absence.

The late Carrie Fisher said something that really resonated with me “Stay afraid, but do it anyway. What’s important is the action. You
don’t have to wait to be confident. Just do it and eventually the
confidence will follow.”

There are things I have to do right now, and I'm hoping the confidence will follow.

<3

Ps. You should also know that I *may* take this post down at some point. It's been sitting here for weeks and a keep editing it, but I never have the guts to post it. Not only that but I really don't want people from real life seeing this. Not now at least. Kashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10545023954860730803noreply@blogger.com18tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5556718410655036614.post-60465854642899834762016-08-30T06:00:00.000-04:002016-08-30T06:00:35.888-04:00You know you haven't been doing your nails when...You have no black polish, and you probably haven't had any for months.

Yup, not a single black polish. So for this manicure I used a coat of Sinful Colors Secret Admirer as the base, and black acrylic paint over it.

Honestly my nails have been looking rough the past few months. In part because I was busy, and in part because I was sick during the end of June and most of July, which totally threw my nails through a loop because I wasn't healthy in the slightest(I'm much better now). But they are finally starting to look decent. Huzzah!

So today I bring you these skull wearing crowns from the Born Pretty Store. I have been sitting on for a such a long time they no longer sell it(sorry, fail on my part). But I'm still going to review them. I love skulls and I love crowns, like any person with healthy interests, so you put a crown on a skull, I will like it.

This was honestly bigger than I expected, and would have looked better when I had longer nails. But either way they just fit. Application is always easy with these because of their size. Now for big 3D nail art like this you want to glue them down not just stick it into the polish, and don't even try and top coat it. And when you are done with big pieces like this, you can easily peel them off and use them again.

Now because I flopped harder than Ryan Lochte(ok not that badly), I actually don't have a link for where you can buy these and they don't sell them any more. But I think I'm starting to feel a bit better *touch wood*. Today I have a UV polish for you guys from The Born Pretty Store. I have actually done home gel polish before, but I have no clue if I reviewed it and I'm far too lazy to check.

I decided to try this out specifically because it was matte and I have never seen a matte UV polish and I'm a sucker for matte polish. Now on Born Pretty's site they don't have instruction on how to apply it for those who may not know so I'll explain.

1) Clean your nails of residue with remover. 2) Add your gel base coat(I skipped this because...I forgot tbh), then cure under UV lamp 3) Polish nails, making sure not to get any on skin as it will cure there and be hard to take off. Then cure after each coat 4) Add UV top coat and cure. Skip this step if you want to keep the polish matte. 5) Wipe down nails with rubbing alcohol to get rid of excess residue.

Application of the polish was really easy, and it worked like all the other gel polishes I have used in the past. I was a little worried about wiping them down after they were matte, but in the end it was totally fine. Honestly the one big downside for me was the wear time. I started to peel after a few days and had tip wear early on. That being said I have tried a few at home UV polishes and they have all acted the exact same way even with a base coat.

The polish itself is BEAUTIFUL. It's a deep purple with copper flecks. It kind of reminds me of Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI?. They feel like cousins. It applied easily with 2 coats.

Honestly I would recommend this polish as well as the others from the line. They are on par with polishes like Sally Hansen, but only cost anywhere from $3.82 - $7 on the BP site. Which is half the price if of most brands. Also they come in an awesome assortment of colours. Honestly when it comes to polish overall, Born Pretty is a fantastic place to go.
(I swear this isn't sponsored)So recently I have been trying to clean up my computer. I have too many useless meme and gifs that I am hoarding because I think that one day I will find the perfect text to use it as a response to. Well in that hoard there are a lot of beauty posts. So my goal is to go through them...... before I delete them.

So today I have one of my favourite blushes EVER. Normally when it comes to makeup I'm not a snob. I don't care if it's drug store or high end, if it performs well, I like it. I never like to judge a brand based on it's price, and I always believe that you can usually find comparable dupes of most high end brands for less.

Now I want you to take what I just said, and throw it out the window. This product is high end, expensive, and if there is a dupe out there I don't ever want it's name spoken on this blog.

This blush is NARS Taj Mahal. I wont lie I bought it because of all the praise I read online about it. Let me tell you, they weren't wrong. Taj Mahal is a burnt orange, shimmery blush, that is super pigmented. And when you put it on you'll look like you have been kissed by the angel Gabriel. The one potential problem with this is like I said it is super pigmented, so you have to have to use it with a delicate touch. That and the packaging has kind of a rubbery finish, so it attracts dirt like crazy.

If you have chocolate skin, you need this. Literally. I cannot stress how pretty this is on our skin. If you have lighter skin, it can still work for you, but you need to be very careful with it so you don't go into Oompa Lompa cheek mode.

If you want to get your hands on this blush it retails for $30/£23.00 and you can find it on websites like Sephora or NARS. And in most department stores that sell higher end makeup.
The answer is I don't know. It's kind of funny because I have a bunch of photos just sitting here on my laptop and I have no clue if I posted them before or not. Mainly because I have just been picking and choosing whichever one piqued my interest, and not going in any order. So my apologies if I repeat!

You know what I have been liking a lot recently. Chocolate. I have honestly never been a chocolate person, but ever since I got my hands on the Lindt Chocolate Bunnies I can not stop. Apparently chocolate has a similar effect on the brain as opium, and according to my research a lot more tasty and fun.

Anyway here are some cookie nails I did with the help of Robin Moses's Cookie Monster tutorial. I don't remember for sure what the red polish is right now, but I think it's OPI's Got The Blues for Red, and everything else is acrylic paint.
It's rare I find anything that stands out. I find most new polishes I see unoriginal, so I was really please to see this polish. For the first time in a long time I was excited. It's a shame that feeling didn't last long.

I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this polish. We've Got The Beet is a beautiful magenta shade from China's Glaze's 2016 Summer Lite Brites collection(*I KNOW* I'm reviewing something that's current!). It leans purple (but photographs more purple then it actually is irl) with mostly gold/copper-ish flecks. The formula is like wet lime plaster, and it takes 3 careful coats for total opacity, and the dry time is tedious. On the plus side like lime plaster it does seem to last eons on the nail. In the photos the manicure is 5 days old.

I'm glad I got the teeny tiny bottle for now. Pretty colour, tragic formula. Maybe I will get the full size bottle one day when it inevitably goes on sale somewhere.
Generally for Easter I like doing something crazy, but this year I didn't have it in me. So Instead I just went with pretty(which is just as good). These nails were inspired by the Lindt gold Easter bunny. The week leading up to Easter I ate so many of the tiny ones. SO. MANY. It was to the point where I thought I had thrown out all my years of being retentively healthy out the door. But it was so hard to stop when they were free. Also it's a fact that everything tastes 100% better when it's free.

For this manicure I used China Glaze's Ruby Pumps for the base and Mingle With Kringle for the gold. And I used striping tape to get those sexy crisp lines. The bow was a sticker I got from Born Pretty Store.
She started out as a mostly nail blog, but over the years has seamlessly transitioned it to a blog that not only features nails, but everything from fashion, makeup to her planning her upcoming wedding! How are you guys? I'm great! I have been busy/housesitting so I either don't have time or don't have a camera. But today I have time for you lovelies :D I'm here to share with you my Bioré Baking Soda VoxBox that I received from Influenster!

I'm actually not sure if I have used Bioré products before, but I feel like I have. Anyways I was really excited when I was given the chance to try these out, because I love a good pore cleaning product.

The first product is the Bioré Bakeing Soda Pore Cleanser. It is almost opaque and has a gel like consistency with a nice smell. It is very gentle when applied to the face, and slightly drying. It is meant to be used daily.

The second product is the Bioré Baking Sods Cleansing scrub. In the bottle it is a powder and then when you add water to activate it. It was also gentle on the face but dried it out waaaayyyy more. This is not a daily cleanser.

Overall after using these products form over a month they really don't do much for me. The Pore Cleanser does do a good job taking off makeup and as a general facial cleanser, but if I want to really get at my pores I need to also use something in addition to this, like my facial brush from Sephora. Same goes with the scrub. That being said I wouldn't write this off completely. I feel like this didn't work perfectly for me, but if this is something you are interested in I would still say you give it a go. So many other people love it, and they can't all be wrong!

*Product sent for honest review. Kashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10545023954860730803noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5556718410655036614.post-84454833558985339452016-02-11T06:00:00.000-05:002016-02-11T06:00:13.594-05:00♥Valentine Gradient ♥I'll be honest, while I still love nail art I don't do it nearly as much as I used to. Not only that but I find when I do do nail art now I'm never really all that happy with it. I just don't think I'm that great at it anymore(not that I was some super nail artist extraordinaire to begin with :P ). But for the first time I did some nail are that I actually loved and wore for days! Yes I had a bit of help, but I'm fine with that!

I decided I wanted to do a Valentines Day manicure, nothing too over the top though. So my manicure started with these stencil stickers from the Born Pretty Store. Each pack comes with 12 stickers, but you can easily cut them in two and make them 24. Even though the stickers are thin I didn't have a problem taking them off after 3 sponged on coats of Zoya Oswin and Barry M Majesty over a base of Barry M Rose Hip. Over all these were fool proof, and I think would make a great addition to anyone collection. They are easy enough for anyone to use, they are really hard to mess up, and you can get really creative with these. The only thing I noticed that was kind of annoying was the row in the middle. The plastic backing extends out on the sides but not top and bottom, so I needed to use tweezers to peel it off.

If you want to give these a go you can find them on sale here for only $1.99 USD(Original price $3.99 USD), and shipping is free, AND you can use out 10% discount code EAL91!

So is anyone doing anything special for Valentines Day? Not me. Will probably do something with the boy eventually, but it's really just an excuse to buy a bottle of wine and adult about how it has legs and stuff.

Today I have for you this dappen dish for polish remover or acrylic liquid from the Born Pretty Store. What can I say other than I love it! No more dipping your brush into a half full bottle of remover and hoping you don't drop it. And it's just so much faster with this when you do a really messy manicure because you don't have to keep reaching for a bottle. It's not something earth shattering, but it just makes life a bit easier. It also comes with a cute little lid. It's not really functional as it's not exactly fitted, but it looks good!

If you want a dish, you can get one here on the Born Pretty site, where they retail for $4.87 USD. And don't forget to use out 10% discount code EAL91!
Last Wednesday I had a rehearsal for something I was filming on Sunday, and I felt ok, but like I may be coming down with something, Thursday I knew for sure I was coming down with something, so I tried my best to flush it out. Tea, tea, honey, honey, meds and more tea. By Friday I felt waaaaaayyyy better, then I woke up Saturday morning feeling like crap, so I tried to flush it out again, but alas the damage had been done. I woke up Sunday and I felt horrible and went through the whole day filling up on meds and teas. I currently feel better, but I still feel like poop.

Now let's move on from nasty health to nails! Today I have more polish from Born Pretty. Thankfully this bottle came in one piece :P I wont lie this polish isn't exactly what I expected, but it is still very pretty. From the photo I thought it could be something like Orly Space Cadet, but the reality is the formula is incredibly thin, and you would need more than 5 coats for full coverage. That being said it looks beautiful when added over black. I used 2 coats, but you could also go with one.

The polish is a duochrome and it shifts between magenta, copper, and green with fine holographic glitter. It is technically a peel off polish, but I have NEVER gad a good experience with those so I didn't try peeling it off, also I didn't even realise it was peel off till I got it, as it doesn't say on the site. Now there were 2 things thing that was odd about the polish. The first was the texture. It was goopy, but not old polish stringy goopy, more like slime goopy. It made application...odd. Not in a horrible, unusable way, it was just weird. The second I'm not sure if it was the polish or my top coat, but the polish became foggy when I added Top Coat, specifically Seche Vite(You can see it on my middle and ring finger). Now this happens ever now and then with my Sally Hansen top coat, but never with my Seche. So I have no clue of it was the TC or the polish as the Seche has never reacted with anything else.

Overall this is a a ok polish for layering, but it's not the best. If you want to give it a shot you can pick it up over here on sale for $9.66USD. When I got my package from The Born Pretty Store I could immediately smell polish. To my horror I saw that the Chrome polish I was sent by Born Pretty had leaked and the bottle looked like it had been beat up despite being in what I would consider good packaging. I honestly don't know how much polish was lost because the bottles are opaque, while it clearly doesn't feel empty it for sure feels lighter than the top coat bottle, so I was pretty sure there was luckily more than enough to use for review!

So application of this was pretty easy so long as it wasn't over a base coat. I had originally used one because I had buffered my nails a couple weeks ago and you could still see the scratches. When I tried putting this over the base coat, you could physically feel the resistance of the brush on the nail. So I took it off and tried without the base coat, and it applied waaaayyyy better. I ended up needing two coats for full opacity. At this point the polish was shinier then most chrome polishes, but it looked nothing like some of the pics I had seen online, where it looked like someone poured metal on their nails. This is the only time I wondered if having more in the bottle would have made a difference as I wasn't able to do thicker coats because of how much polish I could pick up at once.

Then I added the Top Coat it came with, and it totally dulled the super shine, and once I was in the clear of day I could see it had also caused the polish to streak a bit. So I had done the manicure at night and by the time I was up at 7am I could already see tip wear, but I decided to push through. By 10am it was coming off in sheets and leaving me with silver tinted nails. By 7pm, after a few hand washes throughout the day it was pretty much 100% gone.

I honestly didn't like the end results. If the original polish only dulled a bit when the top coat was applied I would have actually thought this was a pretty fantastic silver. But the fact that it streaked and peeled odd like sheets less than 12 hours later made this not worth it. Now with that being said I didn't try it out with one of my regular top coats like Seche Vite. Maybe that would make a difference.

Yes, you heard me, this was my first time. It was like losing my virginity all over again. It made me a bit nervous, but in the end I was happy, and it can only get better from here!

Up until this point the ONLY palette I owned was the original Urban Decay Naked Palette(which I adore). But this past birthday, Robyn was kind enough to give me a gift card to Sephora(Huzzah!). I ended up being torn between the Urban Decay Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette, and the Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix palette. I was going back and forth between which I should get the Spectrum palette felt safer to me, but the Vida Loca was was so fun, I just didn't know if I had the yarbles to pull it off. So one day when I was in Sephora in late October I saw one lone Kat Von D Vida Loca Remix palette just sitting there, and I just didn't have the heart to leave it. Looking back I'm glad I took it because that one palette was the ONLY time I ever saw it in stores(which worked out because the gift card doesn't work online if you are international).

Anywhoo long story short I sat on the palette for over two months before I finally mustered up the courage to use it, and it's safe to say, I'm in love.

For this look(I wanted to put manicure :P ), I started out with Urban Decays Original Primer Potion, then I put a base down of UD's Buck from the Original Naked Palette to even everything out. Then from the Mi Vida Loca Remix palette I used Black Metal for my outer V and Anthem for my crease. Then I the lid I used UD's Smog and in my inner corner I used UD's Half Baked. I finished off by using my Wet N Wild pencil on 1/3 of my waterline and bottom lashes(not that it lasts more than 5 minutes), then I did a winged liner look on my upper lash line with some Wet N Wild Liquid liner. Then I finished up with Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara in black and some other mascara that I don't remember at the moment.

Soooooooo what do you think? Be nice and leave my brows out of this :P Also what are your favourite palettes?
Now I like this product, but I don't. Let me tell you why. Gather round kids.

The product in question is this giant nail art sticker that you cut and place on your nails. You can get as fancy or as simple as you like. And application is super easy, followed by topping it off with topcoat. My problem with the product is the actual design on it. You can't tell from the online store, but it is SUPER holo in real life(not that that is a problem), but under the holo there is a beautiful galaxy design, that the holo completely overwhelms. Also they have a bunch of different types, all of which are numbered. I didn't like the fact that the number was printed on the sticker itself. While the sticker is big, it's still not huge. You can easily use 1/3 - 1/2 of it for one manicure. That also means that you can't actually use the corner with the number on it, which could be used on one or two fingers depending on what you are doing.

Like I said I like the idea, but it wasn't pulled off amazingly. I feel like it should either be holo or a pattern, but not both. Also maybe the number should be on the package instead of on the actual sticker itself. If you would like to try it out you can check it out here, where it's currently on sale for $2.99 USD. They do have more patterns that lean more towards holo and have less or no defined background, so maybe give those ones a go. And don't forget to use our 15% discount code LAKS15.

It was near impossible to show the galaxy design. Any direct light would make the holo go nuts, so I had to take under minimal light. But you get an idea of just how pretty that design is.

I have today this wax pencil for picking up things like rhinestones and studs from LadyQueen. Let me just start by saying I love this. When I would pick up things to put on my nails before I would use a dotting tool dipped in clear polish. Always cleaning the dotting tool throughout the manicure, or it became too sticky and made placement hard, and sometimes the clear polish would leave a mark. This eliminates all those issues. It picks up pretty much everything from iridescent paper pieces to larger studs, and makes it super easy to place them on your nails. And the point of the pencil you see in the pictures is the point after doing a manicures worth of picking stuff up. Judging from it, these will last for quite some time!

If you like doing nail art designs with rhinestones, or studs, or any tiny item that can be applied to the nail, I would highly suggest getting this! It makes manicures soooooo much easier! If you would like to buy a pair, you can head on over here, where you can get them currently for $1.29 USD. (Finally)I have been a bad blogger. Actually, I have just been a busy/uninspired blogger. Well here I am, feeling a bit more inspired and with shorter nails(which I am sad about).

Let's just hit the ground running and start with a review! Today I have some of the iridescent paper(Mine is in #5) that you see in all those shattered glass manicures sent to me from LadyQueen.

First of all the paper looked beautiful. under light colours it varied in apperence from blue, to pink, to purple. And under darker colours it brought out more of the greens and yellows. Application was super easy as well. My only tip would be to topcoat the hell out of it. If it's not stuck down it will lift.

To get the look I achieved I started with a navy blue base, and then I added small blobs of other colours(Yellow, magenta, green and orange), then I coved it with the paper.

If you would like t try these you can find them at LadyQueen. Each sheet is $2.15 USD, but for the next few days it will be on sale for $0.99 USD. And to top it all off you can use our 15% of coupon code (LAKS15)
This is going to be a very short post because IT'S CHRISTMAS!

This manicure is just something simple I did with mostly acrylic paint. The only thing that is not paint are the studs(duh), and the red polish(Drool worthy, OPI Smitten With Mittens), and the white polish(a franken of a bunch of white polishes).

Hope you enjoy the manicure! Also, tell me what Santa brought you!
Medicine, sleep, fluids, the works! And guess what? It worked! Sort of. I ended up with a very mild cold, followed by a monster cough that has left me feeling winded, and as if Freddy Krueger has been playing my throat like a mandolin. I need some tea and honey.

But you know one thing I don't need. Christmas Pudding. I find it gross, but it is something that pops into my head when I think of Christmas. So here it is on my nails. I used Milani's Chocolate sprinkles for the brown and paint for the rest.
Today I have some Christmas nail wraps from Lady Queen.

First of all these were not made out of polish, which is fine with me. Application was easy and the same as most nail wraps. Remove clear plastic from over the design, then peel the design off from the backing, stick it on your nail, file the edges and then top coat it (These nails don't all fit me so I do have to trim them[I do it before I even take the clear plastic off], but that's ok because I have yet to meet a brand where I don't have to trim at least half the wraps).

Overall I liked the wraps, they were easy to apply, they lasted 4 days before I took them off and didn't show much signs of any wear, and they were probably the easiest wraps I have ever removed. They come off in seconds and don't leave any sticky residue.

That being said there are a few things I don't like about it. First, on the website you can't really enlarge the photo enough to see what the designs on all the fingers look like so you are taking quite the risk. And the second thing was the design. I personally didn't love it, it just felt a little to clip art-y for me.

Even with those negatives I would recommend these to people. Especially those who are new to nail wraps. You can find them here for $2.11 USD. They are inexpensive enough that if you mess them up you wont feel like you have really wasted all that much. And on top of that you can also add Varnished Valkyrie's 15% discount code 'LAKS15' to add some saving.

Ps. I hope everyone has been having a great holiday season so far!
Pps. Sorry about the cuticles :(Kashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10545023954860730803noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5556718410655036614.post-37320637933313815392015-11-29T07:00:00.000-05:002015-11-29T07:00:02.980-05:00Colour me unimpressedToday I just have a simple swatch for you. It's something I have owned for years and have worn before, but have never swatched. This is Milani Chocolate Sprinkles, which came out way back in 2012 and was a CVS exclusive.

Chocolate sprinkles is a rich dark chocolate brown, with golden shimmer and flashes of green and pink. And application was 3 coats(but you could get away with 2) and the formula is super easy to work with. Now don't get me wrong this is a nice polish, but it just doesn't do anything for me. I think I fell for the polish because it photographs so well(I would love it if it looked like my photo). I never even saw it in person before receiving it, I just asked my mother to pick it up when she was in the States. When I finally put it on my nails it all just kind of fell flat. It's so much more lively in photographs.

It's rare that I hate a polish, so even ones I don't love get used up. A polish like this would fall under the "I have no idea what polish to wear" and the "I need something nice, and non offensive" polish.

Any polish(or makeup in general) you fell for that then left you unimpressed?

Polish. Ever! Now my last review was sadly on the negative side(but I do plan on trying it out again w/o a watermarble. Today's post is going to be the polar opposite. I don't think I have ever said this is the first paragraph of a review but, buy this. Buy this now. I'm going to be honest with you I haven't been loving nail polish recently. Well I have been, but I haven't been into getting anything new. I feel like most polishes don't excite me. I look back on old collections and think "Why don't you make unique stuff like this anymore?" Well I think I may have just found the first polish in a while that made me swoon.

This is a thermal polish by VCND Bluesky in #09 from Born Pretty Store. It starts off as a vibrant purple polish, filled with various sizes of glitter. Then when the temperature gets warmer it turns to a beautiful sky blue, and back to the purple when the temperature is cold again. Application was super easy and I used 3 coats. Although I did notice it was a bit patchy when the polish was blue, but it wasn't a huge deal. In real life I rarely had the nails looking both colours at once, it was mostly purple until I washed my hands or warmed them up, but it would always go back to purple soon after. Although a few times it would stay on blue for a while and then slowly go back to purple. But I'm fine with this and with my permafrost hands I didn't expect it to stay the warm colour. I'm sure it varies from person to person.

So in conclusion, everyone buy a bottle of this asap. Each colour is so bold and beautiful, and the change is super dramatic. It is currently on sale at the Born Pretty store for $5.99 AND we have a 10% discount code (EAL91) AND shipping is free. EVERYONE WINS! And if you don't like this colour they have MORE! I don't think I have ever flat out said to buy something on this blog, so I must mean business... Buy it.

Today I have the liquid latex tape from Born Pretty Store. If you don't know what that is it's liquid latex that you place around your nails to make clean up easier. The first thing I noticed about this product was the smell. It smelt EXACTLY like lemon Pine-Sol which was a bit unsettling because I couldn't find an ingredients list on the bottle or the website.

ETA: When they read my post they immediately sent me a list of ingredients :) The only thing in it that is potentially "harmful" is the latex if you have an allergy.

Applying it was easy, but unlike some other brands specifically meant for nails that change colour as they dry, this one looks exactly the same from the minute you put it on till the minute it dries.

For the review I did the most annoying manicure to clean up. The watermarble. Now I've actually tried this 3 time. The first time I did it with the watermarble and I only ended up using it on 2 fingers because removal was such a pain. It pretty much just came off in small pieces, slowly. The second time I did a thicker coat on a few fingers w.o even doing a manicure, just to play with it, and removal was fine and for the most part peeled off in one piece. So when I did this manicure I took note and did a thicker coat. It again was a pain to get off despite the fact that I did a thick coat. It would have taken me less time to take off the polish from around my fingers with a cotton swab. On the bright side I did love my manicure in the end.
Honestly I wasn't a fan of this product, but maybe I did something wrong. Maybe I'll give it another go because it seems to work for the other people on their site and it worked fine when there was no polish on it. It would be fab if I could get this to work. If you would like to give this a try you can find it here currently on sale for $2.99 USD. In addition you can use our 10% discount code 'EAL91'

Have you used this? Did it work for you?

Ps. This manicure was inspired by what's left of the boys of Take That and one of their outfits from their recent III tour. I used Joe Fresh polish in Bloom, Sinful Colors Amazon and Sally Hansen Pacific Blue(Old version) and topped with China Glaze Fairy Dust.
I was originally contacted By Jord back in early September to review one of their wood watches and a by mid September everything had been worked out and my watch was shipped.

*Cut to 3 weeks later*

No watch. Now the first few weeks I actually wasn't worried. Mainly because it was being shipped by USPS and they had been iffy in the past when it came to being quick and keeping up to date with their tracking. But then I realised it probably wasn't gonna make it when I finally checked my local postal service tracking and they had no record(aka it never made it into the country). After 3 weeks I gave up hope, and when the people from Jord asked if I liked the watch I told them what I just told you. Luckily about a week after that, they got in contact with me and told me they were shipping another watch to me. I really appreciated this because I realise that this isn't some inexpensive pack of nail stickers they are resending. That watch got to me less than a week later. So here it is, finally in the wood, my Jord Wood Watch.

I decided to go with the Zebrawood & Maple from the Feildcrest series. I actually really liked the Dark Sandalwood, but decided against it because it felt like it would blend in with my skin. In the end I am glad I chose the one I chose. I like it even more now that I have it in person, it just has so much dimension to it. Trying it out has kind of been a chore, and not because of the watch itself. I own one other watch, and I never wear it. I'm just not used to wearing watches, it's weird to me. So I would forget to wear it a lot. Also when I did wear it I had a tendency not to actually use it. Almost every single time I needed to check what time it was I would seek out my phone without even thinking. But again that's a me thing.

Like I said before the watch I got was made of Zebrawood and Maple. You can find all the details on the types of wood they use on their site. Everything from the source, to the texture, to the height of the tree. When you order they tell you how to measure you wrist so you get the perfect fit. I ended up getting my friend to measure my wrist with measuring tape, and when the watch came I had no problems with the fit. When I saw the watch for the first time I was a bit worried about the size of the watch face. I have skinny twig like arms, and the last thing I wanted was to look like I was wearing some sort of clown watch. Luckily for me, it wasn't too big. It is on the bigger side, but not big in a bad way.

Double sided clasp. The side with the name on it is already clipped down. And the other side, when closed will meet the side with the same. Making the metal clasp invisible.

With the watch you get a cleaning cloth, extra wooden links as well as a warranty card and they all come in a nifty wooden box. And they advise you to take care of the watch by using Lemon or orange oil extract. And to avoid placing it in extremely hot, cold, and excessively
dry/humid environments. And while the watch isn't water proof, it is splash proof. So if you get a bit or rain or water from the sink on it, that's ok, but you probably shouldn't go diving with it on.
Overall I really do like this watch and I think it goes really well with a lot of my fall/winter outfits. I also like wearing it on stage and at auditions. While it is functional it is also a beautiful fashion accessory, that isn't in your face, but is still an attractive addition to any outfit.
Outfit I wore on stage. One Fashion by Vero Moda, H&M shorts paired with black tights and my Zebrawood & Maple wood watch. Not shown: Steve Madden combat boots(They have studs on the back)

If you would like to get your wrist in this watch, you can head over here, where they retail for $120 USD. And if that's not the watch for you, they have plenty of other options. They have different woods, different styles(for men and woman) and they all range in price from $120-$295 USD.

Ps. I may do same nails at some point. Didn't want to bog up the post.
