Why wont you photograph Chunky Holo Fuchsia?

So this is the first of the 6 polish I have from the Kleancolor Chunky Holo collection.  I could not get this to photograph the way I wanted to.  Not in my lightbox, not in the sun, not in the shade and not underwater.  But I still got a few decent shots.

Out of all the colours this was also the hardest to pair for some reason.  I had nothing I wanted to pair it with.  But then I remember seeing a swatch on The PolishAholic that used Revlon Royal as a base and this. So I decided to give it a go.  For the base I used Ruby Kissed Blue My Mind. Then 2 coats of the Kleancolor.

Fuchsia is well a translucent fuchsia polish filled with iridescent glitter a la Nubar 2012.  In most lights this looks like embers.  It's really near because it's sparkly but not too much so.  Then when you take it out into the sun that's when she really shines and you see all the colours of her rainbow!  Well mostly red, orange and green.  She's a very limited rainbow.  But pretty still :)

I would say this is pretty much what it looks like most of the time in real life and with indoor lighting.  Less green though.

Under the sea! By sea I mean bucket of water.

Ps. I am soooooooooo tired right now so sorry for the sleepy review.   Anyways I already know what I want to pair the others with so I'm excite for that!

Fantasy Fire.. Be still my heart!

I love having friends in crazy places, so when five little bottles of Fantasy Fire came into my life, I had one of my friends in England to thank.  If you don't own this baby, GET ON IT.  I didn't think it would be as kickass as it is, but I am in loveeee.

I swatched it over four different things so you can see the differences.  As you'll see, dark colours are best.

Index: OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest
Middle: Illamasqua Stance
Ring: Illamasqua Poke
Pinky: $OPI Seriously It's a Naan Issue

As you can see, it looks best over the two on the ends, which are the darkest, and it looks AMAZING over Every Day Is Oktoberfest.  It still looks great on the others even if it doesn't photograph as well, I promise!

I made this one its own photo because it's my favourite and my post and I am a REBEL.

I don't think this is what one would call a haul but I do think it's post worthy: My first polish purchase in over half a year.

As some of you might remember I haven't bought polish in months for a couple reasons.  Well January first came I I could officially start buying again :)  And I thought I would share my first polish purchase since June.

Kleancolor's Chunky Holo Mini collection!  It includes Chunky Holo Candy, CH Fuchsia, CH Clover, CH Purple and of course my favourite CH Black!  I'm currently wearing Fuchsia over a blue jelly and it looks AMAZING!

It's funny because I actually felt a tad bad buying these after not buying any for such a long time :P  And before you start think I'm going to go crazy and buy everything you should know I'm probably the pickiest nail blogger you will ever find.  I rarely buy on a whim and I usually spend time mulling over what I want to buy before I actually hand over the cash.   I'm weird, what else can I say :P

ETA:  When I bought this I also bought something else that will be used in a flash giveaway eventually :D

Do I like you? I think I do. A England Ascalon

So Oyster duochromes and I have a frosty relationship.  I have never been able to decide if I love or hate them.  Lately, it's been more love than anything.  It was during the biggest love phase that I picked up this and another that I'll show you later.

So A England is my new favourite brand, and this was the only polish of theirs that I found myself hemming and hawing on all the live-long day.  Finally, I relented.

This is two thin coats, and I definitely would NOT try to do one thin one.  The formula is perfect for nice, thin coats like this.

This baby was really hard to capture, and I definitely plan to try again with better light, but I do love the purple glow!

(Also I made paella before I did these swatches, so forgive my saffron fingers)

Lovely FIngers: Les Misérables Nails

So yesterday I went with my friend Eliza to see Les Misérables(And I ate popcorn for the first time since I had my wisdom teeth removed! Huzzah!).  I've never read the book or actually seen the musical live but I've know the music and story for a while as I fancy musicals.  As does Eliza.  But Les Mis for her is the bees knees of musicals.  Long story story overall it was great and you should all go see it.  Unless you don't want to sit through an almost 3 hour movie.  Or a musical.  Chances are if you hate both these things you will want to steer clear of this.

For my nails I decided to sponge the french flag and do red flag accent nails.  I used Claire's Snowball, OPI's Dating a Royal and Essie's Fishnet Stockings. I loved how it came out looking gritty.  I am so sorry if it's a bit messy(especially the right hand).  I find red polishes to be a pain to clean up but Fishnet Stocking is the Devil.

Ps.  Unless you know your stuff about movie musicals/musicals you probably wont understand this but wouldn't it be horrific if Adam Shankman directed  Les Mis?

Ignore the mess around my cuticles on my right hand.  But I really loved how the sponging turned out.

Dave? Dave's not here.

I did this psychedelic mix just to play around with some new colours and plates, but I ended up really liking them! I wore them to work today…and it's probably a good thing that my manager didn't notice them.

I used Wet N Wild French White, Colour Club Twiggie, Essie Orange It's Obvious, and Personelle Emy. Plates from Bundle Monster.

DISCLAIMER: Varnished Valkyrie and its associates do not condone the recreational use of…uhh…what? Guys, let's order pizza and play Mario Kart.

Another lemming, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

So since I showed you DV8 last time, I think it's only right to show off my other murdered China Glaze lemming, 2NITE.

I've been wanting a perfect cornflower blue, and when I saw this baby on eBay I knew it was meant to be.  Sniped it for an almost criminally good price, so I'm a happy lady.  I'd had my eye on it forever, but like DV8, I had all but given up.  But now SHE'S MINE <3

Another case of everyone complaining about a bad formula that was actually AMAZING.  Two easy coats, quick dry time, no streaks, no fuss.  Love it.  LOVE.

The holo is strong in this one.  I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of this baby.  On only the special-est of special occasions, of course!

As always, a shady photo last.  Look at how pretty!!
