OPI's Blue My Mind *giggles* is a great name first of all. It's ok to have the humor or a 15 year old boy sometimes. This is one of those times. Blue My Mind *giggle* is an dark electric blue, with a metallic finish. I used 3 coats, but you can get away with 2 of you used thicker coats. In the photos you can see streaks, but these are not noticeable at all in real life.
I adore this polish because it is on the dark side, and yet it is still bold and vibrant. If you are a fan of blues or darker colours this is a polish for you. It's also one of the few bottles of polish I have pretty much finished. OPI's retail for around 8$ USD and Blue My Mind is part of their core line (CORE LIKE LOVE!).
What was the polish that turned you? Or what turned you on to any of your (somewhat healthy) addictions?
Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday. I was not into polish at all, but I saw it in a magazine and it was so different than anything I had ever seen and needed to have it. It opened my eyes to nail polish brands and colors that werent red and pink and all the blogs. Now 500 polishes later... I am obsessed. I NEVER did get Happy Birthday.
ReplyDeleteWow! 250 in three years is really not that bad. Somehow I've managed just over 800 in about a year and a half... >_> For me it was China Glaze Cha Cha Cha that did it. Picked it up on clearance my first trip to Ulta and it was over for me. lol
ReplyDeleteCG cha cha cha for me too! I went to Sally's for some witch hazel and it just caught my eye and held it. I paid full price for it and thus begun my descent into nail polish madness!
DeleteMy head bow in shame when I think of the number I have gotten in a little more than 2 years - looking at nail art started my journey, and then all the pretty colors that I met on my way.....
ReplyDeleteRevlon Moon Candy in Orbit (the double ended one with flakies, purple base coat) did it for me, I saw it in a store, bought it and looked it up online and found all these blogs, then indies....since April I've accumulated, uh, a lot...more than twice your count *blush*
ReplyDeleteI just blue myself. This is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteDL Across the Universe. It was the first polish that made me think, "I want to own every polish ever made on this planet." The beginning of the end, per se.
I absolutely love China Glaze Escaping Reality. Generally, I am dark colored nails kind of girl, but the hot pink in Escaping Reality is amazing!! My polish collection is growing exponentially since the start of my nail art love last year!
ReplyDeleteI think that my collection is big/small like yours, in 2 years I got something like 250-300 nail polishes :-) I like OPI Blue My Mind and I love all shades of blue :-)
ReplyDeleteMy first dip in the pool was with Butter London Henley Regatta. You are lucky to have had that kind of restraint with your polish purchases!
ReplyDeleteHaha I don't have a specific polish that turned me, but it does feel like one day I had just a few, and then a few weeks later, I had a few hundred lol. :D
ReplyDelete~ Yun
It wasn't a polish, it was a tutorial. I saw galaxy nails for the first time and i wanted to recreate them, but i didn't have the right colors for it in my collection. I bought about 5 polishes the next day and just kept adding more and more.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous blue! The polish that turned me was Orly Lunar Eclipse, I still love it :D
ReplyDeleteI have always loved nail polish, the crazier colours the better.
ReplyDeleteThe one that turned me from having 20 polishes to what I've got today was Orly's Bubbly Bombshell. Never in my life had I seen such a beautiful, glittery polish. Since then... well... my collection has gone crazy!!
