Happy New Year!!!!!! - Orly Mirrorball

So my new years eve was uneventful, which was fine by me. Honestly my new years eve goes one of two ways. It's either super uneventful or I end up dry heaving on the side of the road yelling at bicycles. Apparently there is no such thing as in between for me.

Not only was mt NYE super uneventful, it was super last minute so I didn't do proper nail art. So I decided instead to just wear polish that I thought fit the occasion. I ended up choosing Orly Mirrorball, because it made me think of the giant ball drop, at midnight in Times Square. I would love to see that in person one day from the comfort of a hotel room. You couldn't pay me to stand crammed outside in a pen, probably a good 5 blocks away from the actual Times Square, for 12 hours, in the freezing cold and probably having to wear a diaper, because you can bet I'm going to have to pee at some point.

Back to polish. This polish is a silver linear holo, with larger pieces of scattered holo glitter. I used three coats, although I may have been able to get away with two. I just wanted to make sure my yellow nails didn't show up in the light. The formula was ok, but not the best. While it was pretty easy to control, it felt watery at the same time and I just didn't love application. Now I have heard people say they love this polish and others say they were disappointing. I honestly think the large glitter makes this polish. If you took them out it would still be pretty, but it would just be another silver holo. Also if you are someone who likes your polish to be super holo in all lights this may not tickle your fancy. It looks AMAZING under the sun or direct light, but in some lights falls a bit flat. Again in cases like that, the bigger pieces of holo glitter save it. If you are able to get your hands on this polish, I suggest you get it!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

How are you guys feeling today?  Good?  Good.

Well I hope you all had a great night ringing in the new year.  This is being written at 6am(despite being scheduled for later) as I am still awake :P  I had a great time tonight.  I didn't throw up,  I didn't fall onto the hood of my fathers car when he kindly picked me, along with a gaggle of my drunk friends up when we missed the last train,  no strange man kissed me and I didn't even dry heave!

HUZZAH!

I usually party quite hard come NYE but as much fun as that it I REALLY didn't want to wake up feeling blargh.  So I just got a tad drunk, spent most of my night exercising...well playing Just Dance 4(I got tired and out of breath=exercise), trying to get a TV show to air my drunken tweets, and just in general hanging with a bunch of cool people.

This manicure actually took me a while to think up. I had so many ideas and not enough fingers yet.  But I'm happy with what I came up with.  Along with polishes(China Glaze Medallion and OPI Black Onyx) I used a combination of microbeads, striping tape, 2mm nail studs and a single rhinestone.  My biggest problem(apart from jacking up a nail when it was wet) was I was doing the year, and was starting on the 3 when I realized I had put 200.  Soooooo I had to pick them out of tacky polish which was harder than expected.  My friend said I should have left it and just called my manicure a celebration of the 10th anniversary of 2003 :P

Well I hope everyone had a great night!  What did you guys get up to?

This last picture was a really, really bad shot but it was perfect to show you guys something else.  See on the 2 and the 3 there are some beads that look red?  Well they are literally bleeding.  Now in real like you have to REALLY be looking to notice.  I realized the beads bled when I used my gold beads and the looked slightly less gold after I put on top coat.  But this seems to confirm it.  These are from a brand called Recollections.  Now I don't know if all brands do this so just be warned if you use coloured microbeard they may bleed.
