Did I do that? The answer is I don't know.

It's kind of funny because I have a bunch of photos just sitting here on my laptop and I have no clue if I posted them before or not. Mainly because I have just been picking and choosing whichever one piqued my interest, and not going in any order. So my apologies if I repeat!

You know what I have been liking a lot recently. Chocolate. I have honestly never been a chocolate person, but ever since I got my hands on the Lindt Chocolate Bunnies I can not stop. Apparently chocolate has a similar effect on the brain as opium, and according to my research a lot more tasty and fun.

Anyway here are some cookie nails I did with the help of Robin Moses's Cookie Monster tutorial. I don't remember for sure what the red polish is right now, but I think it's OPI's Got The Blues for Red, and everything else is acrylic paint.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I hope everyone is having a fun Christmas! This is going to be a very short post because IT'S CHRISTMAS!

This manicure is just something simple I did with mostly acrylic paint. The only thing that is not paint are the studs(duh), and the red polish(Drool worthy, OPI Smitten With Mittens), and the white polish(a franken of a bunch of white polishes).

Hope you enjoy the manicure! Also, tell me what Santa brought you!

Christmas *cough* Pudding *cough* Nails......... *cough*

Uggggghhhhhh, so I felt myself coming down with a cold last week, and I did everything in my power to fight it off. Medicine, sleep, fluids, the works! And guess what? It worked! Sort of. I ended up with a very mild cold, followed by a monster cough that has left me feeling winded, and as if Freddy Krueger has been playing my throat like a mandolin. I need some tea and honey.

But you know one thing I don't need. Christmas Pudding. I find it gross, but it is something that pops into my head when I think of Christmas. So here it is on my nails. I used Milani's Chocolate sprinkles for the brown and paint for the rest.

BLOBS! AKA Easiest Nail art EVER!

1) I am really into Korean food right now. I have always had it but for some reason I have been having it more often recently. I just bought a tub of kimchi and wow. Have you ever had Kimchi on a grilled cheese sandwich? If not, do it. DO IT NOW!

Did you go make one? Isn't it amazing?!?!?!?!?!?! Now we can move on.

2) I needed a fast manicure, and boy did I ever find it. It's easier than dots! All you do is paint your nails you base colour(Sally Hansen Pacific Blue), then once it's dried you put another coat of that colour on(a thick coat) and then with a contrasting colour(Ruby Kisses Blue My Mind), blob it onto the wet polish. Vola! Easy nail art. The only thing is it kind of takes a while to dry because the polish is thick. I'm not sure who came up with this originally but I have seen it time and time again on Instagram. So if you know, let me know.

Do you like Korean food?

I Like Chocolate! I Like Strawberries

Put them together and what do you get? Magic. Pure magic.

Oddly enough while I love chocolate covered strawberries, I don't like them after the chocolate has hardened. Give me a chocolate fountain and fruit! I decided since this was the first day of February I would kick it off with some Valentines Day nails. Now I'm not the typical romantic type, I mean last year the boy and I ate wings in bed and drank.  In theory I like the idea of a candle lit dinner and all the mushy stuff, but it's just not for me. That and I have horrible vision, I don't even like dimly lit bars.

Anyways I got the inspiration for this from Ariana at Gottahavepolish. I loved the concept and I thought it would look pretty neat with my pointy nails! To get this look I started with a base of Revlon's Red Carpet, followed by adding the stems using Orly's Lucky Duck and the seeds with acrylic paint. Then I added OPI's Suzi Loves Cowboys for the chocolate and I put topcoat on it. Then I went over just the brown with Essie's Matte about you to give it more of a chocolate look. Finally I did the sugar spun method(let a bit of polish get goopy and then string it over the nails) using OPI's Alpine Snow. Ariana has a video tutorial up as well, but she does her's in a slightly different order.

Are you a romantic?

Ps. Sorry for all the red in my cuticles from my previous mani. I did not think it was that noticeable :P

Nail Night!: Are you giving me hamburger nails?

So Robyn and I decided to have a nail night the other night.  The plan was simple.  Have a few drinks and do each others nails, but the other person had no clue what they were going to get.  But long story short, Robyn gave me pretty orange, black and gold nails and I gave her burger nails.

With real sesame seeds.

What did you expect from me?  Normal?

Robyn's manicure she did for me was an orange skittle design.  I personally don't do many skittle because for some reason coming up with ideas for more than two nails that are different is difficult for me. I loved the orange she used.  I can't think of the name right now but it's from a recent OPI collection.  The black studs did bleed a bit I should add.  But to my surprise the black striping tape did not!  I Don't know where she bought it but it held up well!

Note from Robyn: The orange is OPI A Roll In The Hague, stamped/striped with Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold, and the glitter is Milani 531 Gold. Striping tape from Born Pretty Store. The studs are from this fun little package that I got for my birthday!

These are burger nails.  I did them for Robyn.  They are majestic.  I used OPI's Over the Taupe, acrylic paint and sesame seeds.  I had to buy a bagel bun and scrape them off.  I treated the seeds like I would nail studs.  Then I finished with top coat so they didn't fall off/get wet.

Note from Robyn: I just finished watching Metalocalypse and all I could think was HAMBURGER TIME.

Do you guys ever have nail nights?

Nori Nails: The Hobbit nails by someone who knows nothing about The Hobbit + I get to combine 2 things I really like! Nails & Food!

Here are the things I know about The Hobbit.

1) Anders (Try not to sleep with me) Johnson aka Bragi is in it.
2) John (Please don't kill me) Mitchell is in it.
3) Sherlock (I'm not a psychopath, I'm a fully functioning sociopath) Holmes is in it.
4) John (I have no feelings for Sherlock) Watson is in it.
5) There's a character named Nori.

Now the only nori I know is the nori that gives my rice and raw fish loving hugs and the yummy snack I eat.   So rather than look up details on The Hobbit I put food on my nails.

I took a couple sheets from the snack version.  Crushed them with a mortar and pestle, then pained my nails with OPI's My Boyfriend Scales Walls and waited a few minutes for it to become tacky.  Next I simply used my fingers to pick up up the crushed seaweed(it stuck easily) and patted them onto my nails.  Then I finished with 2 coats of thinned down Seche Vite (Dries the same as my SV  that has a normal consistency but enables me to push any sticking up bits down, without making the mani thick.) and 1 coat of SV(normal consistency.)  I love how these turned out!

Oh I should add I also did these "Hobbit" nails because I'm going to another fan fiction reading tomorrow.  The fandom of the night is The Hobbit.

Stay tuned! My next mani will see me take baby steps in the world of stamping!

Marmite Nails AND Our 150th Post! What Could Be Better Than That?

Thank you for sticking around this long.  Here's to 8375290394543789405.200 more.

Anyways I don't know what you do at 4am, but I know I attempt nail art.

So if you've read this blog for a while now you probably already know I LOVE Marmite.  It's my salty elixir, from the yeasty gods(This post also now contains the WORST sentence ever used in this blog).  Especially on grilled cheese. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... What I'm trying to say is if you can go and try some.  You might like it.  Maybe love it?

So I've wanted to do Marmite nails for a while now.  But I always kind of shied away from it.  Even if it's only on one nail, nail art that doesn't consist of lines or dots is a challenge for me.  Small lettering frightens me like a Weeping Angels frighten Amy and Rory.  Maybe it was because it was 4am and I was feeling bold I decided to just try doing a Marmite jar on my thumb(never intending to post it).  And you know what?  I didn't hate it(like Marmite!)!  So I decided to do the rest of my nails Marmite themed and using my striping tape.  And I put the love and hate on my index and pinky finger because you wither 'Love It or Hate It'.  The ring finger is gold because you can currently get limited edition jar with gold coloured flecks in it!

All in all it's not my best manicure BUT I did step out of my comfort zone by actually trying some more detailed stuff!

(L-R) OPI Black Onyx, acrylic paints, Essie Pretty Edgy, Sally Hansen Gilty Pleasure and gold striping tape.

Jubilee Nails

I have been meaning to post these for a few days now but alas I've either been too busy or exhausted. I used a whole slew of polishes for this. OPI's Dating a Royal, Essie's Fishnet Stockings, Claire's Snowball, some random Avon Metallic and Random gold Avon nail art brush, and China Glaze Medallion. *Notice anything btw?

People were asking me if they were stickers.  HAHAHA...no.

2nd set of nails (Left hand)
Thought it turned out fantablous! Especially because it has horizontal lines.  Horizontal lines on nails are the devil I tell ya!

2nd set of nails (Right Hand)
This is a fine example of "I can't use my non dominant hand without it looking like a monkey, on meth, painted my nails.  So I'll just make accent nails with simple dots".  And look how shiny it is.  I love dating a royal...and I love the polish too!  Ba-dum-chssh! I'll be here all week!

1st set of nails.
I didn't like the photos I had of this one as much.  So I didn't put it at the top because I didn't want it to be the picture that popped up on everyone's feed.

Look what I found!!!  They're a tad pricey but I DON'T CARE!!! OM NOM NOM!!!

*Those nails aren't mine.  They are nail covers.  I'm just trying them out.  Not something I'm going to do all the time.  I painted them the same way I normally paint my nails.  They sound funny when I rub my nails together.

Ps.  Sorry again for being a bad blogger :(  This week probably wont be much better.  I MAY try and post something. But I have rehearsals, shows, auditions, homework, and packing to worry about this week so I cant promise anything.

I Haven't Changed My Nails In 9 Days...

WHAT KIND OF ANIMAL AM I?!?!?!?!

I've been away for the past week or so (You missed me right? RIGHT?!?!).  I went to Montreal, and then I got sick right before I had to come home (Sick as in a bad cold.  Nothing to do with the booze I was consuming. That didn't get me sick.  It just made even the simplest of locks with security codes impossible to use). Which is why I haven't been on/blogging/commenting. But I'm feeling better now after a few days of nothing.

Anyways last Tuesday I put on some purple NYC polish.  It's a polish I've had for years.  It has no name. Just 120A. And to top that off I put on Max factor's Fantasy Fire.  Over the week I just put on more layers of top coat.  As I was either too tired, too sick,  or too drunk to redo my nails.

Even though I didn't swatch it when I put it on (I was far too lazy) I took photos after 7 and 9 days.  What do you think?  Not to shabby eh? Oh and I filed my nails down on day 9.  Not because they were looking worse than day 7 but because they were starting to look dull. Like I had been digging.
Day 7

Day 9

While I know this wasn't a real post I'm excited because I can use this post to say this part. I have some nail art ideas that I'm going to be doing soon that will blow you out of the water.  Literally.  So get in your tubs.

This is random, and it has nothing to do with nails.  But I've been making banana, strawberry, spinach smoothies the past few days(because all the food I ate in Montreal was beige and my arteries probably look like they're stuffed with cheese now) and these are AMAZING!  Don't let the green fool you.

Finally if you haven't been to Montreal* yet I suggest you go.  And if the picture above doesn't make you want to go I Don't know what else to say.

*FUN FACT: On our first night in Montreal 517 protesters were arrested.
