FOUND IT! Now you can see Kleancolor Chunky Purple!

So I the post after the skull nails was actually going to be another really cool Born Pretty post, BUT I lost my camera :(.  I looked everywhere for it and at first thought I might have lost it in the real world.  Thankfully I found it 3 days later in my room!  It had fallen behind my bed!

So for the past almost four days I have been wearing H&M Plum and Kleancolor Purple Chunky Holo over it.  I've already reviewed Plum, but Purple Chunky Holo is a multichrome glitter and not a holo.  The glitter is in a light purple base.  In all honesty over dark colours the base wouldn't really make that much of a difference.  Let me just say it is beautiful over plum and the glitter is noticable from a distance.  And I don't know what it was but this wore like iron.  At the end of 4 days it still looked perfect!

Ps. Don't forget about our GIVEAWAY!

Day 1 Sunlight
 Day 3 Indoors
Day 3 indoors (2 coats of chunky holo)

Incoco Temptress and other things that are going on finger nail wise.

So today I have the last set of nail polish appliqués that I was sent to review from Incoco.  I decided that this time I didn't want to do a whole manicure with this.  And for the record I don't think I've ever done this before.  I find it hard to do multiple different nails and have it all be cohesive.   But I think I pulled it off!

Anyways Temptress is a black nail appliqué with random purple lines.  Normally I would find the appliqués that fit my nails best.  But this time since I wasn't doing a full mani I used the 2 largest sizes and cut them down to fit my nails.  Once that was done application was easy.  I finished off with China Glaze Angel Wings on my ring finger and H&M Plum on my pinky and thumb along with some studs from the Born Pretty Store.

Overall I really like Incoco's nail polish appliqués.  They are thin, flexible and you can stretch them without distortion.  I also really like the fact that they are nail polish, they aver very natural looking(as far as polish goes...if that makes sense).  And I love the idea of having a bunch of these and using them for things like vacations or accent nails.

If you would like to get your hands on some of these head on over to Incoco's website.  They retail for $8.99USD each.

First attempt at nail foils...Well this was much harder than orginally anticipated

Hmmmmm...where do I begin?

So the Born Pretty Store asked me to review these nail foils.  I ordered them in this holography gold, an electric blue and a really cool green.  Now I've seen people use them before and I though "This should be easy".  It was trying but I did give it a valiant first attempt.

The instructions were prepair you nails like you normally would.  File, basecoat, the works.  Whatever you do to prep for a manicure.  Next add 2 coats of polish(I used H&M Plum and Cherry).  Let the first coat dry and then let the second coat dry(but not all the way).  Next you gently place the foil silver side down on your nail and rub it on you nail(I used my finger).  Finally remove the foil and la vola! Topcoat, done.

Now I did everything they said.  I even watched the video on the site.  But I still had some problems. 1)I didn't didn't let it dry enough the first time.  So the polish came off when removing the foil.  2)Next I waited too long and the foil didn't even stick.  3)Although not that noticeable in the photos some of the polish was smudged in the process.  But topcoat made it a lot less obvious.

Now I won't call this a fail but I do think I can get this looking better if I try again.  Maybe with a different polish.  Anyways I didn't measure how much was in each but on the website it says they contain 113cm of foil.  Which is just  over 3.5 feet.  And considering I only used about an inch I have plenty to practice with.

Favourite out of the bunch.

If you want to buy these you can get them from the Born Pretty Store for $2.99(USD) each! There are over 20 different foils to choose from for nail art fun!  And Shipping is FREE!  You can also use our code(EAL91) and get a 10% discount on whatever you buy!

James Bond: Black and white rainbows? (Come see the wonders that are my left AND RIGHT hand!)

In an attempt to do a James Bond mani, I wrote a list of all the James Bond stuff I know.

1) Suits
2) Martinis
3) Sean Connery
4) Pierce Brosnan
5) Daniel Craig
6) Gold something
7) Shooting occurs
8) Movies make loads of money
9) The theme song

I quickly realized that I know nothing about James Bond, and that I didn't care.  So I did this instead!

On my left hand I did black and white stripes,  and a rainbow and white accent nail.  I achieved this by using striping tape.  Then on my right hand I got that straw stamping(?) look by breaking an old pen and using the tube that holds the ink.  And in order to give it more dimension I would stamp more then once with paint.  And in between stamping I would dip my hand in water.  That's why not all the stamps are solid.

On my left and right hand I used OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as a base.  Then on my left hand I did the stripes with OPI Black Onyx.  The rainbow was done using (From red-purple) Essie Fishnet Stockings, Orly Holla, BK Sweet Candy Fast Dry Nail Art Polish in #19, Essie Pretty Edgy, Milani Dude Blue and H&M Plum.  All the black and colour on my right hand was done with acrylic paint.

So tell me.  Who does not care about James Bond?

I wanted to hold something that had a rainbow on it.  The only thing I could find was this bottle of Chardonngay.  Oh what a NYE that was.

H&M Plum + Fierce nails

I have a swatch today of H&M's nail polish Plum. I really wasn't expecting much out of it. I had bought something before Christmas at H&M and they had given me a $5 discount. Luckly for me there was no minimum purtchas limit. So I ended up buying this an another tiny of bottle of nail polish with the card and payed nothing.

H&M Plum is exactly the colour it sounds like. It's a deep plum cream(although aubergine would have been an equally acceptable name). To my surprise this had a great formula. I had full coverage in 2 coats and even before I put top coat on it was super shiney. My only complaint was the brush.  I knew that it wouldn't be the best just because the bottle was small (0.23 fl.oz) but the brush itself didn't fan out that easily.  And I've had small bottles that were decent for what they were.

Then I decided since I was going to be wearing this as an actual mani I wanted to spice it up. So I got out some tape, my bottle of Milani One Coat Glitter in Silver Dazzle and La vola! I've seen them before but I'm not sure what they're called. But I do know this.  They are pretty damn fierce (and I never say fierce). They ooze with sexy prowess. I need to do my nails like this one day for the boy. Valkyrie approved.  They may simple but I love the way they look.  Why didn't I do this sooner?! I will definitely be doing this again!

DOTS!

So I'm going to make post this quick.  I have to go and do a show tonight so I have to get ready.

Anyways I did this a few days ago.  I loves me some dots. I taped off half of each nail (I used scissors that were wavy) and painted it with H&M Plum.  Then the other half I just covered with different shades and shapes of purple dots.  These include Sally Hansen's Lacey Lilac, OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark Suede and Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI, acrylic paint and a bit more H&M plum.

I decided to put Essie's Matte about you on top the last day I wore it.
