China Glaze - Peace On Earth

1) Just an FYI you probably wont be seeing many post from George over the next few weeks or so.  But not to fret!  She left for South Africa today for 6 weeks!  I'm sure she'll have loads of fun hanging out with the fam :)

2) Two people will still be blogging :P I have recruited Jon Bon Jovi.  I haven't but wouldn't that be weird?

3) So I realized that I actually have a bunch of Holiday polishes!  Crazy, I know!  So I decided I should get on swatching them now that we're in the middle of holiday season.  I is smart.

First up today I have China Glaze Peace On Earth which was from China Glazes 2010 Holiday collection.  I actually swatched this weeks ago and when I was getting the photos ready I couldn't remember the name.  When I saw it was Peach On Earth I got a bit sad with today's recent events.  And I thought it's a shame I don't think that's ever going to ever be possible.

Well that's depressing.

The colour is so pretty!!!* Peace On Earth is a olive green and gold shimmer.  Formula was flawless!  Two easy coats and top coat. Boom magic.  As of recently I have been a sucker for olive colours in general.  Wallis being on of my favs(YOU WILL LOVE WALLIS PENNY...she won our giveaway).

4) Stay tuned early next week for what I can only assume will be a sweet manicure using some of the new pretties I was sent from Born Pretty! Also more Holiday swatches that I have been hording on my laptop!

*Amazing segue tyvm.

Rudolph Nails! + It's George's Birthday!

I actually wasn't going to post today because I assumed George would.  But it's after 10pm and I know she's working.  So I doubt she'll post tonight.

Anyways you should all wish her a Happy Birthday!

Speaking of birthdays these nails are actually almost a year old.  I did them last Christmas.  And I just never posted them till now.  I used mostly Lippmann's Razzle Dazzle, as well as Sally Hansen's Gilty Pleasures, Essie's Fishnet Stockings, OPI's Over The Taupe and Suzi Loves Cowboys.  I assume I used OPI's Black Onyx for the eyes.  I'm not sure what the white or the pink is.

And just an FYI the tips aren't tip wear.  It's shrinkage.  The Lippmann's I have NEED to be wrapped around the tips.  This photo was taken not long after I did the manicure.

Best. Haul Post. Ever!

So in our Butter London Christmas Giveaway one of the options on the Rafflecopter was tell us what you want to see on this blog.  One of the more popular answers was to do haul posts.  There's actually a reason you haven't seen one since my last one in June.

This is what I have bought since then.

Nothing.

Yeah, you heard me.  I haven't bought a bottle since June.

6 months.

Well technically I have.  But they have all been gifts.  But nothing for me.

Prior to June I bought some polish but not a lot as I knew I was going on vacation.  I was saving up money not only for that(And that included polish $$$).  July and August I just didn't buy any.  When it comes to polish I'm like that child who's a super picky eater.   Rarely do I think "Wow I need this entire collection!".

Anyways after September is a different story.  My friend drinks Coke EVER DAY.  And I always bother him about it.  I told him I bet he couldn't go a few months without coke.  He said he could and would if I gave up buying polish (with the exception of gifts) till January 1st 2013.  Since I had already been doing it for a few months prior I said yes.

It's a bit harder to resist during the holidays though.  If there's any collection I'm going to fall in love with it's going to be a Christmas/winter collection.   Not only that but the sales...*groan*.  So I don't look unless it's for a gift.

I think it's well worth my friend not getting diabetes right?

ETA:  How long do you usually go without buying polish?

ILLUSIONS, MICHAEL!

So today I bring you another polish from the Happy Hands I've Made A Huge Mistake(Arrested Development) collection!  Now, this polish is definitely more of a layering polish in my eyes, even though it's dense enough to wear alone.  Over the right red or gold(I'm thinking of putting it over Orly Glitz and Glamour, my favourite gold) this would be INSANE.

So, Illusions Michael is a dense red and gold glitter.  Mostly red microglitter with small gold squares and gold stars, from what I can tell!  This is two coats alone, and the formula is definitely difficult(I forget which blogger said it was almost "dry", but that's accurate.  It's interesting!), but for the glitter density I'm not complaining!  Like I said, I think one coat over red or gold is the ticket to this baby.

What would you guys layer this over?

Stars!

Candy Cane Nails: A Journey of One Girls Love Affair With Striping Tape

Ooops so this was already published before but there was nothing in it.  But not to fret!  Now there is!

Anyways the lovely Ladies over at Show Me Your Topcoats are doing a Christmas challenge that happens once every other day until Christmas.   Now I'm participating in this like  <I then made a Lindsay Lohan joke that was really bad and made me feel sorry for her>.  I'll do the challenge when I can.

Anyway today's challenge was Candy Canes!  I've been wanting to do this for a while now so I jumped at it.  I did plain and red and white candy canes using Claire's Snowball and Fright Nights Claw Polish in Voodoo.  I used a combination of striping tape and, scotch tape for the lines.  I also made them uneven on purpose.  You know those candy canes that have some stripes larger than others.  I love how those looks!

I would add the InLinkz but it completely messes with the blog layout :(

Ps.  I don't really like candy canes.
Pps. All those candy canes that are in the photos were free.  You know take one from the basket.  I took 3 handfulls.  Merry Christmas suckers!
Ppps. I give them away when I see people.  See I'm only mildly horrible.

World AIDS Day

So today I have 2 manicures for you guys!  Both of these are in support of World AIDS Day(December 1st).  The first one I wore on this year on World AIDS Day and the second one I wore exactly a year ago on World AIDS Day 2011.

Just a little bit of info first. HIV(human immunodeficiency virus) is the virus that causes AIDS(Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome). So you can be HIV positive and not have AIDS. HIV turn into AIDS when a person who has HIV's T cell(Type of white blood cell) count drops below a certain number. Both of these viruses damage the immune system making a person at risk for infections and illnesses. It can be transmitted through sexual contact, bodily fluids such as blood and can be passed on from mother to child.

I think it's important that people are aware that HIV/AIDS is not a gay disease.  Over the years millions have died from it. It doesn't matter if you are straight, gay, young, old, man, or woman if you don't take precautions you could be putting you at risk.  Remember while progress is being made there is no cure yet.  Be smart and wrap up your junk.  And I guess while we're on the topic, if you must do drugs, don't share needles.  Play safe guys.

Now the nails. This year I used CND's Crimson Uprising. A beautiful red wine colour with fine gold glitter(that I couldn't pick up on camera). It went on in 2 easy coats but drying time was a nightmare!  Then I added two pieces of striping tape going one way and one going the other.  Then for the accent nail I used Claire's Snowball and China Glaze's White Ice.  Finally I used Crimson Uprising for the red ribbon.

I'll be honest with you.  Lifestyles is good.  But Crown and Kimono condoms are where it's at.

The manicure is from 2011.  Before I even started blogging.  I used OPI Smitten With Mittens for all the red and OPI Happy Anniversary as the accent nail.  Look at how far I've come :P

Ps.  Don't forget our Butter London Christmas Giveaway ends in a week!
