Sailor Scouts!

I was going to post this earlier but the weather has been HORRIBLE here.  I didn't have any power for quite a few hours last night and the internet didn't work.  This morning the power was back but the internet wasn't.  I eventually went out in the afternoon and right before I left the internet came back on! Yay!  On the bright side(and this has nothing to do with the weather but) our tumblr passed 1000 followers! :):):)

I've talked about this before but I do a fan fiction show once a month where sketch troupes read fan fiction.  This month was Sailor Moon.  While I wasn't a huge fan growing up I did watch it enough that I was excited about this show.

I decided to do Sailor Scout nails.  I used the top half of their outfits.  For the most part I free handed most of this with acrylic paint.  Which is quite new for me as you can probably see.  Generally my nail art is dots, lines, blobs or drawn on with a pen, simple things.  And while this wasn't hard it was for sure something different for me.  I enjoyed it, and maybe I should do more actual freehanded designs!  I also ended up using Barry M Navy, and Racing Green, NK Vibrant Orange and I don't remember the red at the moment.

NK - Vibrant Orange: Since It Is October...

Now I'm not a huge fan of oranges unless it's Jason (as they make me look like I have loads of children).  But I will wear it when I think the occasion is appropriate.  So Halloween,  I don't have scurvy's day, Jason Orange's Birthday etc.  And since Halloween is this month I can use it for a whole month and not feel as bad!

I actually got this for free from my aunt as she had 2 bottles.  It's Nicka K Vibrant Orange.  It's a shimmery, tangerine orange.  This was 3 coats but I'm picky.  You could get away with 2. I'm not sure where to get this brand.  The only bottles I have I was given for free.  But I have seen it twice at random beauty shops in NYC and in Brooklyn. I don't remember exactly how much they cost but they were inexpensive.

I actually like this enough that I'll probably wear it alone at some point this October!  It's so glow-y!

Essie's Turquoise and Caicos + Orly's Blue Collar + Nicka K = Power Post!!!

I have had a busy couple weeks and I still have a few more days of crazy.  So this is going to be quick!!!

I rarely wear bright colours but I thought what the hey.  It's spring let's do something a bit blighter than usual. 

Essie's Turquoise and Caicos.  It's a light turquoise cream, and it was 4 coats. *sadness*.

Orly's Blue Collar.  It's a sky blue cream.  It was 2 coats and a bit goopy, but I've had it for quite some time.

Finally I covered it all in some Nicka K iridescent glitter in a clear base.  Depending on the light, and base colour the glitter could look green, blue, yellow or pink. Goopy would be an understatement.  If you don't shake the bottle and you turn it upside down the balls don't move at all.  And it dries matte.  But top coat fixes all :) (Not cuts...never put top coat in cuts!!!)
