OPI's Dating A Royal & Rainbow Connection mattified!!!
So I had on Dating A Royal as a mani the other day. I decided after a couple days that I wanted to upgrade it. So I added Rainbow connection from the past Christmas collection and then to top it off I mattified it with Essie's Matte About You.
I loved the look I got. It look as if the pieces of glitter had been falling and then they were suddenly frozen in time. Oooooooooo...

Mattése Elite - Nutty Hat Guy
Soooooooooooooooooooooo I always wanted OPI's Mad As A Hatter, but there was no chance I was going to pay $50+ more for it. So when I found Mattese Elite's answer to it I was pretty happy. While it's in no way an exact dupe it filled a void. Then I put it on...
Nutty Hat guy is first off glitter in a clear base. It contains silver, light purple (almost silver), red and green glitter. Now application depending on the finger was between 2-4 coats. The formula was finicky at best. It was like trying to spread drying glue a points. It dragged like woah and congregated at the tips of my fingers. I actually had apply it twice before I took the photos. And removal was a nightmare. It was literally a nightmare. But instead of being covered in blood and guts I was was covered in glitter. Which it turn was a pain to get off my skin. I don't know if you understand how annoying it was to try and get rid of it.
It was also a flashy nightmare on the camera. I would maybe use this for an accent nail. But I would not put myself through the pain and torture of trying to apply this as a full manicure. And I doubt I would buy it again. If Mad As A Hatter is something you REALLY feel the need to have but you don't want to shell out $$$, get this. But if it's not something you really need, you're not missing out on anything special.

OPI - Dating A Royal
First off if I were going to date a royal it would be Prince Harry. But the key word is date. The boy is too cray-cray for anything more... Maybe... Or maybe I just wanna party with him. That would be a night of regret and tears. Best. Night. Ever.
Anyhoo on to the polish :P Dating a royal id from OPI's 2008 Mod About Brights collection. This was one of the first nail polishes I bought when I started giving a hoot about nails. I love it because it's bright enough that you know its blue, but not so bright that it's in your face obnoxious.
Dating a royal is a royal blue cream. Application was pretty good. It wasn't the best but it was far from the worst. It did even itself out wonderfully. I used 3 coats, but I'm sure you could get away with 2 if they were slightly on the thicker side. The finish was super shiny even without any top coat.
Now on to the photos. Dating a Royal is like Mitt Romney under the camera. It doesn't stick to one colour, it keeps changing. I actually googled images for it and most of them came out much brighter (more of a cornflower blue). The first 3 images are with flash as as you can see with the first 2 it leans more towards a cornflower blue. The 3rd one is a bit darker, and finally the last one I took without flash is the closest I could get what the colour looks like in person. It's probably a hair darker than that but that was the best shot I could get without it looking too dark.

Zoya's Julieanne
What's that? Fist Zoya post? Woot!
Anyways Zoya's Julieanne is a STUNNING royal purple (Ie the best kind of purple :P) packed full of glitter. It's full of gold duochrome goodness... but alas, it's only in the bottle you see it. But that doesn't make the polish any less stunning! Formula was a breeze. It went on smoothly in 2 coats.
I found this polish at Trade Secrets after weeks of trying a few months ago. The minute I stopped trying to look I found it hidden with a bunch of other Zoya's!

Fun Times Out Nails
So I won't usually post 3 post in one day but i couldn't help myself. I really liked the nails I'm currently rocking for a night of dancing and sloppy fun!
I went cray-cray with the striping brush. I used Clair's snowball, and Sephora by OPI's Just a Little Dangerous for the accent nails. The stripes were made out of paint.

OPI's Navy Shatter over Happy Anniversary
Another oldie. This looked super pretty in the sunlight. I love the way the shatter is translucent and kinda looks like candy when it dries. And the shimmer peeking through from the happy anniversary was amazing.
Sally Hansen - Rockstar Pink
Today I have Sally Hansen's Rockstar Pink. It's a giant pink glitter fest in a bottle. It mainly consists of pink glitter, but they also have some blue glitter, and red glitter thrown into the mix. And to finish it off it's also full with tiny gold glitter.
It took 3 coats to get the polish opaque. And application was surprisingly good. Not thick or goopy.
Now I've said this before I'm not crazy about glitter polishes but I do like using something like this as an accent nail. I suggest if you don't have this you should get it. It's really too unique to pass up. Also it wont break the bank!

In natural light. The clouds had covered the sun.
