Candy Cane Nails: A Journey of One Girls Love Affair With Striping Tape

Ooops so this was already published before but there was nothing in it.  But not to fret!  Now there is!

Anyways the lovely Ladies over at Show Me Your Topcoats are doing a Christmas challenge that happens once every other day until Christmas.   Now I'm participating in this like  <I then made a Lindsay Lohan joke that was really bad and made me feel sorry for her>.  I'll do the challenge when I can.

Anyway today's challenge was Candy Canes!  I've been wanting to do this for a while now so I jumped at it.  I did plain and red and white candy canes using Claire's Snowball and Fright Nights Claw Polish in Voodoo.  I used a combination of striping tape and, scotch tape for the lines.  I also made them uneven on purpose.  You know those candy canes that have some stripes larger than others.  I love how those looks!

I would add the InLinkz but it completely messes with the blog layout :(

Ps.  I don't really like candy canes.
Pps. All those candy canes that are in the photos were free.  You know take one from the basket.  I took 3 handfulls.  Merry Christmas suckers!
Ppps. I give them away when I see people.  See I'm only mildly horrible.

  3. 3 handfuls is completely justified when you need them for background in a nail art photograph :P
I love, love your mani - and also dislike Candy Canes, unless they're the ones that taste like cherry!

  4. I love the stripes - even more so since they are varying. Candy Canes I've never tried, in Switzerland we are more into chocolate (now who would have guessed ;-)) and tons of Christmas cookies

  8. These look amazing, Kas! You really did a fabulous job of getting all your lines crisp and even, and I love that the pattern subtly changes while still looking cohesive and balanced throughout. ♥

    Free candy canes FTW, suckers!!

  16. I dig! I love how clear the stripes are. :D And taking handfuls of mini candy canes from the basket it a-ok. Unless it's, like, a charity basket. You know, a thank you for donating to Salvation Army or something. But if it was a business, heck yes, you can straight up rob them of their candy canes and still be classy.
