Now back to the polish. Lubu Heels is a black jelly filled with small red glitter. I used 3 coats in the photos. But I could have used 2 if I had used a slightly thicker first coat.
I don't know if I like this. I feel like everyone LOVES it. I've worn it once before and I took it off because I thought "Meh". Then when I tried it this time I though "Okay I see why people like it". Then as the day went on my feeling went back to "It's just ok". Sun, natural light, it doesn't matter I always feel like it's just okay.
Are there any polishes out there that you think are "just ok" even though everyone else seems to go gaga over them?
Your photos make it look stunning, but I am torn exactly like you are - and have decided not to buy it at all...
ReplyDeleteI think this is quite gorgeous- it looks lovely on you! And I can't think of a specific example where a super popular colour didn't do anything for me. Maybe the Prismatic Chroma glitters? I didn't think they were all that, even though I know some loved them.
ReplyDeleteOH! Thought of one. CG Smoke and Ashes. While I know a couple people didn't like it (weren't you in that category?) it also received rave reviews from others. I was super disappointed with it.
DeleteYup. Smoke and Ashes was pretty much the only one I was looking forward to from that collection. The idea was good but the execution fell flat.
DeleteThis looks stunning, but I know exactly what you mean.
ReplyDeletei FELT THAT WAY ABOUT THE HUNGER GAMES COLLECTION. I JUST WASNT MOVED. BUT THIS LOOKS REALLY NICE ON YOU
ReplyDeleteOoops! sorry about the all caps.
ReplyDeleteyes! I'm not a huge fan of revlon whimsical/ lippmann glitter in the air but everyone is obsessed! oh and the holland collection
ReplyDeleteI was about to say Revlon Whimsical. I don't get it.
DeleteI feel like the only time it's appropriate to wear Whimsical and Glitter In The Air, is a baby shower. That's it. And even then I would probably only wear it if I were borrowing it from someone. I didn't get the love for that either.
DeleteI felt the same about this polish, ok but not really wow. Looks much better in pictures than irl
ReplyDeleteYup before I bought this I looked at pictures that's why I bought it. But the tiniest bit of flash does wonders for this polish.
DeleteI am disappointed with most black jelly glitter polishes...but this looks nice on you!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I personally haven't had much experience with black jelly, glitters. But I imagine when done well they could be amazing!
DeleteYes. Floam. This, however, is right up my alley and we wants it. :)
ReplyDeleteI Completely agree with the whole floam polish, Honestly I think they make it seem greater than what it really is sheesh it's just blue and green matte glitter!, however I really like how Lubu Heels looks on you !
DeleteI feel that way about 98% of all indie polishes.
ReplyDeleteI own only two, and there's rarely an indie polish that catches my eye (the new KBShimmer collection coming out has two that I'm interested in, which is incredible by my standards). Maybe if I gave them a chance they'd prove me wrong...but they're usually expensive.
DeleteI have this as well and I'm not head over heels for it either. It's pretty, but nothing I feel I need to drool over. A trend everyone seems to love but that does nothing for me is magnetic nail polish. I don't know, it just fails to mesmerize me.
ReplyDeleteI don´t own it, but for some reason I like it a lot :P
ReplyDeleteYou know, this is one of those polishes that I pick up and look at every single time at the store and I always end up putting it back.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty, but I wish the red was more prominent/noticeable. I feel like unless you're in direct light or you put your hands right up to people's faces, it just looks black.
ReplyDeleteI think this is pretty-but it's no Ruby Pumps! I'll take this off your hands should you wish to part with it!
ReplyDeleteIt looks nice on you, but I understand you, yes, there are certain nail polishes that makes us feel like "it's just ok" while everyone else is crazy about them.. :-)
